How does the HHS peptide policy relate to Phases’ BPC-157 listing?

Phases lists BPC-157 days after HHS published its enforcement discretion policy for 503A compounding of six peptides. That policy covers BPC-157 acetate for subcutaneous, intramuscular, oral and topical use, on a patient-specific prescription, as a single active ingredient, when ten conditions are met. It is not FDA approval. See HHS’s peptide compounding policy explained and BPC-157’s regulatory status. We did not check whether any specific Phases product meets those conditions.

What could not be verified?

  • Which compounding pharmacies fill Phases prescriptions, and their licences. Could not independently verify.
  • Whether its BPC-157 product matches the salt form, route and sourcing conditions of the HHS policy. Could not independently verify.
  • The 50-state coverage claim and clinician licensure. Could not independently verify.
  • Peptide Ad Lab has not used the service.

Phases does not yet have a profile in our company index. The company can claim or request a profile.

Reader Question

“Is Phases a pharmacy?”

Short Answer

No. It describes itself as a technology and administrative platform. Clinicians come from MD Integrations, and an independent licensed pharmacy compounds and labels the prescriptions.

Practical Recommendation

  1. Ask which pharmacy will fill the prescription and check its licence with your state board.
  2. Request the lot COA before treatment starts; Phases says it is available on request.
  3. Read the refund policy. Compounded medication cannot be returned once it has been made or shipped.

What we learned

New telehealth peptide platforms tend to share one structure: a technology company, an independent medical group and unnamed partner pharmacies. The terms of service, not the homepage, usually show who is responsible for each part. The pharmacy name is the detail most often left out, and it is the one a patient or a directory most needs.
