Microsoft Advertising for Peptide Companies: Is Bing Easier Than Google? What the 2026 Policies Say

Is Microsoft Advertising (Bing) a workaround for peptide companies blocked on Google? What Microsoft’s Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Ad Policy (updated 1 July 2026) requires, how its strikes and store disapprovals work, and what changes when you import from Google Ads.

Key takeaways

  • Microsoft Advertising is not a loophole. Its Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Ad Policy, restructured on 1 July 2026, requires preapproval for online pharmacies and telemedicine providers that sell prescription drugs. US online pharmacies must be accredited by NABP or LegitScript.
  • Microsoft’s published list of disapproved healthcare products and supplements did not name common research peptides when we checked on 30 September 2026. Microsoft says the list is non-exhaustive and that it can disallow any product “of questionable legality” without notice.
  • Its claims rules are specific. Health claims need “credible scientific evidence, including the source and date of the study”, and ads and landing pages must not misrepresent regulatory approval.
  • Enforcement uses three strikes per policy category, and egregious violations lead to immediate suspension. Merchant Center store disapprovals block every product in the store. Appeals must be filed within six months.
  • Importing a Google account copies the campaigns and the copy. It does not copy Google’s approvals. Fix the site before you import.

Can peptide companies advertise on Microsoft Advertising when Google says no?

Sometimes, but not because Microsoft is lenient. Microsoft’s Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Ad Policy (last updated 1 July 2026) requires telemedicine providers and online pharmacies that sell prescription drugs to be preapproved. It disallows clinical-trial and medical-research solicitations and experimental treatments, and it requires health claims to be backed by dated scientific evidence. A peptide site that fails Google’s review for health claims, misrepresentation or Rx language will usually fail Microsoft’s review for the same reasons.

Founders often ask this after a Google suspension, so it is worth being direct. Microsoft Advertising serves ads on Bing and on other Microsoft and partner properties. It has its own policies, its own reviewers and its own Merchant Center. It is a separate channel that can add reach. It is not a way around a website problem.

What we checked

We read Microsoft’s own help pages on 30 September 2026: the Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Ad Policy, the Disapproved Healthcare Products and Supplements list, What Happens When an Ad Policy is Violated, and the Intellectual Property Policies. Anything we could not confirm on those pages is marked as unknown below.

What does Microsoft’s healthcare policy actually require?

The policy’s general requirements apply to anyone promoting pharmacy, healthcare services or wellness products. Those advertisers must follow all applicable laws where the ads show, maintain “current certifications or licenses for each market”, and not target consumers based on sensitive health information. Beyond that, the sections that matter most to peptide and telehealth businesses are:

  • Disallowed: “Clinical trials, experimental treatments, or medical research solicitations”; the sale of human organs or tissues; anything on the disapproved products list; and “herbal supplements that mimic the effect of illegal substances”.
  • Restricted claims: health claims must be “supported by credible scientific evidence, including the source and date of the study when applicable”. Comparative or superlative statements need a trusted third-party study named in the ad or on the destination. Ads and landing pages must not include “statements that misrepresent regulatory approval or review of a product”.
  • Prescription drugs: online pharmacies, telemedicine providers that sell prescription drugs, and drug manufacturers must be preapproved through Microsoft’s program forms. For the United States, online pharmacies advertising prescription drugs “must be accredited by the National Association Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) or LegitScript”.
  • Vitamins and supplements: no claims of being as effective as prescription medication, no guaranteed or permanent results, no “specific physiological effects beyond general wellness support”, a product page as the destination, and no advertorial landing pages.
  • Weight loss: no specific amounts or rates of weight loss, 18+ targeting, and a prompt to consult a healthcare professional. This is directly relevant to GLP-1 advertisers.

“Research” framing is not a safe harbour here either

The disallowed line on “medical research solicitations” appears aimed at clinical-trial recruitment. Microsoft does not publish how it applies that line to research-chemical retailers. Its claims rules still apply to whatever a page says about effects, whether or not the copy is labelled “research”.

Are peptides on Microsoft’s disapproved products list?

Not by name, as of our check on 30 September 2026. The Disapproved Healthcare Products and Supplements page has sections for non-pharmaceutical controlled substances, weight-loss products, sexual enhancement, bodybuilding and steroids. The named items are mostly specific branded supplements (for example DMAA and OxyElite Pro products) and controlled substances. We did not find BPC-157, TB-500, semaglutide, tirzepatide or retatrutide on it.

That is not a green light. The page says the lists are “non-exhaustive” and that Microsoft “reserves the right to disallow the promotion of any healthcare products and supplements, at any time and without prior notice, that may be of questionable legality or could potentially be harmful to users.” A product under an FDA warning letter or sold as an unapproved injectable is a plausible fit for that language. Google’s Unapproved Substances list works the same way and is also non-exhaustive. See our Unapproved Substances guide.

What happens if you import your Google Ads account into Microsoft?

Microsoft’s Import from Google Ads tool copies campaigns, ads, targeting, extensions and other settings, and it can be scheduled to repeat. For Shopping campaigns, Microsoft says you need to create a Microsoft Merchant Center store first and link it during the import. Microsoft Merchant Center can also import from Google Merchant Center.

Three things to know before clicking import:

  1. You import your copy, not your approvals. Each ad, keyword and product goes through Microsoft’s own editorial review. If the ad text that Google disapproved is still in the account, it will be imported with everything else.
  2. Scheduled imports keep overwriting. Fixes you make only on the Microsoft side can be replaced by the next scheduled import. Decide which platform is the source of truth.
  3. One store per domain. Microsoft says you can create only one Merchant Center store per top-level domain, and that a disapproved store makes none of its products eligible. Clean the feed before the store is reviewed.

If your Google account is suspended, read the reason before building on Microsoft. We found nothing on Microsoft’s policy pages about checking Google account status, so treat that as unknown. What is known is that the same website is being reviewed. A site suspended by Google for misrepresentation or unapproved substances has not been fixed by moving it to another ad network. Our remediation checklist is the place to start.

How should a peptide company launch on Microsoft Advertising?

  1. Classify your business model the same way you would for Google: research supplier, telehealth, pharmacy, clinic. If you prescribe or dispense online, start Microsoft preapproval before building campaigns.
  2. Audit the landing pages against Microsoft’s claims rules. Remove effect claims, “approved” or “FDA” wording that implies regulatory review, and any weight-loss numbers.
  3. Build from a clean Google account, or build natively. Do not import a campaign that is currently disapproved on Google.
  4. Start with Search. Leave Shopping until the Microsoft Merchant Center store has passed review, because a store disapproval blocks every product.
  5. Set up tracking separately. Microsoft uses its own UET tag and conversion goals. Google’s tag does not report Microsoft conversions. The same checkout issues apply; see our hosted checkout tracking guide.
  6. Record every disapproval by reason code. Microsoft publishes editorial reason codes, and strikes accumulate per category, so a pattern tells you which category is at risk.

We do not publish volume or cost comparisons between Microsoft and Google for peptide accounts because we do not have a dataset we could substantiate. Microsoft’s search audience is smaller than Google’s in most markets. Treat it as an addition to a compliant Google programme, not a replacement for one.

Founder Question

“Google shut us down. Should we just move the budget to Bing?”

Our Perspective

Only once you know why Google shut you down. Microsoft’s policy has its own claims-evidence, regulatory-approval and preapproval rules, and three strikes in one category ends the account. Moving an unfixed site risks a second suspension, this time on the smaller network.

Practical Recommendation

  1. Fix the reason for any Google disapproval or suspension before launching on Microsoft. The same website is reviewed on both platforms.
  2. If you prescribe or dispense online, start Microsoft’s Pharmacy and Telemedicine preapproval before building campaigns.
  3. Start with Search, add Shopping only after the Microsoft Merchant Center store passes review, and track disapprovals by reason code.

What we learned

The question behind “should we try Bing?” is usually “is there somewhere our current site will be approved?” On the evidence of Microsoft’s own policy pages, the answer is mostly no. The reasons a peptide site fails Google’s review, such as effect claims, Rx language without certification, and unclear identity, are written into Microsoft’s rules too. Microsoft works best as a second channel for a site that is already clean.

Frequently asked

Is Bing Ads easier than Google Ads for peptides?

Not in any way you can rely on. Microsoft’s Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Ad Policy has its own preapproval, claims-evidence and regulatory-approval rules, and it can disallow products of questionable legality without notice.

Does Microsoft Advertising accept LegitScript certification?

Yes. For the United States, Microsoft says online pharmacies advertising prescription drugs must be accredited by NABP or LegitScript. Telemedicine providers selling prescription drugs must also be preapproved.

Can I import my suspended Google Ads account into Microsoft?

The import tool copies campaigns and copy, but every item goes through Microsoft’s own review, and the same website is being judged. Fix the reason for the Google suspension first.

Are research peptides banned on Microsoft Advertising?

They were not named on Microsoft’s disapproved products list when we checked on 30 September 2026. The list is non-exhaustive, and Microsoft reserves the right to disallow products at any time.

How many strikes does Microsoft allow?

Three strikes per policy category before account suspension. Egregious violations lead to immediate suspension without warning. Appeals go through support within six months.
